Poker terms beginning with a "Q"

Quads

Four cards of the same value (from 2222 to AAAA). Another term for this is four of a kind. For example: 2 of Spades 2 of Hearts 2 of Clubs 2 of Diamonds.

Qualifier

Qualifier is an abbreviation for a tournament that allows you to qualify for other, larger tournaments. These are also known as satellites.

Qualifier Round

An initial round in a tournament or satellite where players compete to advance to the next stage or main event.

Quasi Bluff

A semi-bluff where a player bets or raises with a drawing hand that has the potential to improve to the best hand if called.

Quasi Nuts

A very strong hand that is likely the best, but not the absolute best possible hand.

Quartered

In split-pot games, when two players have the same hand for half of the pot, resulting in each of them receiving a quarter of the total pot.

Queen's Full

A full house with three queens and any pair, such as Queen of Spades Queen of Hearts Queen of Diamonds 9 of Spades 9 of Hearts.

Quint

Another term for five of a kind, typically used in games with wild cards.
