The Poker Channel Expands Their Online Presence In Europe

Europe’s only dedicated poker television channel appropriately called “The Poker Channel” is getting ready to re-launch. Working together with online streaming video pioneer Brightcove, the partnership promises to improve the online experience of their viewers. Already available to 15 million cable and satellite viewers, the online version of the channel is set to reach even more viewers.

The online version of their television channel is set to deliver short and long-form video coverage of major poker tournaments, “how to” videos, interviews with famous poker players, and much more. Major names that The Poker Channel promises to serve up include Daniel Negreanu and Doyle Brunson. Starting in 2009 they even plan to serve up these videos translated into other languages.

Competing against established brands such as ESPN.com and CardPlayer.com will be a tall order for the European company. With more languages supported and the Brightcove techonology, Chris White from The Poker Channel had this to say: “With Brightcove’s technology, we can help make pokerchanneleurope.com the premier destination for poker fans worldwide, and offer more ways to engage and interact with our audiences whether on TV or online.
